Well it's the first thing that went wrong, needed fixing so of course made delays. thats gaining council approval on the design of the house.
Now there wasn't really anything wrong with the house but part of the Council permission process is to notify the surrounding neighbours, so here lies the problem.
we will have breath taking un-interrupted views to the Blue Mountains and the surrounding dwellings are all single story so the battle begins to keep the prize as i will be taking up most of their views.
Now i don't mean to take anything away from them, but if they had done their research then they would know that a 2 story dwelling could be placed on that site.
Needless to say that ALL surrounding neighbours sent submissions into council trying to stop me from building it. They picked various parts of councils requirements to try and make legitimate claims as to why it shouldn't be built, but of course it is all smoke screens and mirrors behind the real reasons.
Anyway it had to go to a council meeting where all the councillors and the Mayor were present to take vote on whether to allow it to go ahead.
Previous to this they assigned their assessor to investigate the submissions to see if they have a claim.
Needless to say his report came back in favour of my design and all the councillors agreed as well.
So for this i am pleases, but the process has now put me behind by 2months.
Some good news though. now that i have permission the builder wants to scrape this coming week.
It would be good to see something in motion as all i have done is fight to get this started.
More good news...."BABY IS ENGAGED" we reckon 2 wks and Myah will be here.
